EXHIBITION NEWS
Citexpo Claims Title of the Biggest in Asia Pacific
China International Tire Expo (Citexpo) was established in 2003 by Reliable International Exhibition Services Co. Ltd.. The aim of organising this exhibition is to deliver a high quality and effective trade platform for the worldwide tyre industry. The centre of production for which is increasingly recognised as being China. The exhibit profile of Citexpo covers from the materials and machinery of producing a tyre to the various types of tyre products and aftermarket services and equipment. It also covers tyre related products such as tyre accessories, rims, retreading materials and machinery. The wide range of products exhibited has led Citexpo to become one of the most successful trade shows in the world wide tyre industry and it also provides one of the best market places for the world wide buyers and suppliers to meet.
At Citexpo, domestic suppliers can meet high quality and quantity buyers from around the world without stepping outside the borders.
For foreign suppliers, they can
meet domestic and international buyers at one place instead of travelling around different countries of the region and the different cities in China. They can also meet a wide range of Chinese manufacturers and dealers with a view to developing their potential partnerships.
For domestic traders, they can meet the highest number of suppliers at one place in their home country. They can also meet many new foreign suppliers and explore more opportunities in local dealerships.
For foreign traders, nowhere else in the world they can meet as many Chinese suppliers as in Citexpo. Citexpo is the biggest market place in the world for Chinese tyre and tyre related products.
The show has seen an increased rate of growth, with visitor numbers up by around 20 per cent between 2012 and 2013, and no reason to expect that the growth will not continue into 2014.

With most African states becoming
increasingly confident and stable the tyre industry is increasingly investing in the African market, but there are signs too of the domestic industry developing, with talk of new tyre plants in Nigeria and Kenya, and retreading starting to make headway as a modern industry across the continent. In a market where roadside traders are commonplace, the retread sector is slowly winning the fight for recognition and investment and Tyrexpo Africa is one exhibition that has surely helped the sector develop in stature in recent years.
The Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg is home to Tyrexpo Africa and the 2014 edition is destined to be the biggest and best showcase for the African tyre market, to date.
1000s of visitors from around the world are expected to throng the halls and keep the 140-odd exhibitors from all sectors of the tyre industry busy.
Tyrexpo Africa 2014 brings together an unprecedented number, range and variety of tyre companies, along with dozens of international suppliers of retreading materials, technology and equipment, tyre recycling, wheels, workshop machinery, tools, accessories and consumables.
“With so much interest in the show and large numbers of visitors expected on all three days, we encourage delegates to pre-register via
distributors with specialist products for all market sectors, including PCR, TBR, OTR, Agricultural and Industrial.
"The range and choice of tyres available to buyers at the show will be unparalleled at a single event in South Africa," confirms Paul Farrant, managing director of Tyrexpo Africa organiser, ECI International. "Local dealers and fleet owners looking to add new brands to their portfolios will have the widest selection of well- respected manufacturers from South Africa and across the world."
One of those suppliers will be German wholesaler BaRo GmbH, who will be making a first appearance at the show, looking to extend its reach in Africa. BaRo is particularly strong in the TBR sector, distributing the TyRex, Antyre, Cordiant, Fullrun, Falken and Kama brands for
our website, to avoid queuing to get into the show,” says Rowena Suthers of ECI International. “We can also assist those who have not yet reserved their accommodation in Johannesburg, by putting them in touch with our dedicated travel and bookings agency, Eastravel.”
The global pulling-power of the three- day event is reinforced by the presence of dozens of international tyre manufacturers, wholesalers and
commercial users. In the agricultural sector it supplies Belshina, BKT, Mitas, Rosava and TyRex products. Another European wholesaler, HBI Tyres & Wheels of The Netherlands, produces retreads under the private brand Bandenmarkt for agricultural machinery, excavators, dump trucks, port handling equipment, earthmoving and mining machinery. HBI is also the international wholesaler of the DELCORA®
