Acten Relocates and Expands Retread Facility
Retread technology supplier Acten has relocated to a new 3 acre site in Seremban, Malaysia and expanded its own retreading facility. According to Acten’s Yap Kong Hui, the main reason for the move is to develop the Group’s retreading arm, Acten Tire Technology Sdn Bhd.
According to Yap the move will
allow the plant to initially
triple production to 2500 tyres
per month with plans to add a
new chamber to allow a
further capacity expansion to
4000 per month in the future.
The move also allows extra
space for casing storage.
In completing the move, Acten
has purchased a new
Taiwanese buffer from Yusan
Tire and added an x-ray
machine for casing inspection. The pre-cure facility mainly uses tread rubber from Sun Rubber, whose factory is only a few hundred yards away, as well as from Maxrubber.
