   Taray International Wins
“Export Excellence” Award
Canada's Kal Tire Boots-up New Computer System
Kal Tire, Canada's largest independent tyre retailer with operations in 17 nations, is now using several new computer technologies from FuseSource Corp to integrate more than 230 stores with its retreading facilities, warehouses and industrial sites.
“Our commitment to deliver true service
to our
customers
defines Kal
Tire and
requires that
we have
easy, timely
access to accurate information at all our locations,” says Chief Information Officer, Clifford Smith.
“We wanted technology that enabled our locations to share inventory and other types of information efficiently and cost effectively with one another,” he explains. “Open source integration and messaging proved to be the right solution.” The chain’s operational systems are distributed across its nationwide store and warehouse network. FuseSource was utilized to eliminate the hours- long, batch-based synchronization process
previously required to exchange information between these locations – thus enabling sales and customer service representatives to see in real- time if a product is in stock and available, according to Smith. Being deployed is the Fuse Mediation Router, a commercial version of the Apache Camel
project that enables users to easily integrate services, applications and
transport protocols using enterprise integration patterns. The ability to connect services by utilizing the Domain Specific Language and mediation components reduces development time and eliminates the need to write thousands of lines of code while integrating Kal’s locations and relevant applications, says Paul Harsha, FuseSource’s vice president of engineering.
The Fuse Services Framework was used to transform the ERP system into a service – essentially turning it into an end-point on any integration route.

  AME Unveils New Logo
AME International unveiled a new logo, as part of the opening of the Tyrexpo India show in Chennai, India. The Brooksville, FL based manufacturer of tyre changing tools and equipment modified the background of its logo to reflect
the colours of the Indian flag. “Our modification to the logo is a temporary change, to show our dedication to developing the market in India,” said Keith Jarman, President of AME, who attended the exhibition in
Chennai. “ The logo has been well received here at the show and I expect that we will continue to use it for marketing here in India.”
Tyrexpo India, held July 5-7 was the first time AME had exhibited at a trade fair in India. The response was overwhelming and many attendees were interested to see tools and technologies that can make their work easier. “Tools that we take for granted as being well known are being seen for the first time in many cases. There are large companies changing earthmover tyres by hand, in some cases taking several people a full day to dismount one tyre, “ commented Jarman.
AME International was also recently recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest growing private businesses. Inc. annually ranks private businesses
to determine their Inc. 500 and Inc. 5000 lists of fastest growing businesses. AME International ranked 637 with 503 per cent growth over the previous 3 year period.
“It’s something that our employees have to be proud of. Our business grew a significant amount during a period when many businesses found it difficult to maintain previous revenue,” said Jarman. “We’re a young company, so we experienced rapid growth the first two years, despite the economy. We expected growth to taper off, but it never occurred.”
Inc. magazine started listing the top 500 fastest growing businesses in 1982 and expanded the list in 2007 to include the top 5000. Several nationally known brands have been featured over the years.
