Italmatic have announced the acquisition of Go Energy Srl in Rovereto (former SD Meccanica), whose expertise lies in the area of robotics applied to the tyre manufacturing process.
Italmatic Expand Capability in Robotics
The acquisition adds further to Italmatic’s status as a global leader in terms of technology and completeness of the range of machinery and accessories on offer for the tyre retreading and repair industries.
Go Energy have specific patents for the use of robotic arms in the tyre retreading and repairing industries, with reliable installations of very high technology already manufactured and supplied to important companies of the industry like Renova, Kal Tire and Bridgestone Bandag, amongst others.
In particular, robotic arms replace much of the hard and dangerous work currently executed manually in the repair process of truck tyres and OTR tyres up to 63”, assuring a huge increase of productivity and of safety level in the workplace.
Italmatic CEO, Dr. Massimo Ghitturi, who finalised the acquisition, stated how investment in technologies of latest generation is the main strategy of Italmatic Group; “Investing and disposing of the most advanced technologies is the essential element to assure growth and future to our Group. Companies who do not invest in technology will not have the possibility to be protagonists in the future market.”
After the acquisition of MGT (a leader in OTR tyre retreading) and of the software House Gigapiù, the acquisition of Go Energy completes the technological jump of Italmatic Group. “At a worldwide level, I’m not aware of companies who can boast our technology and completeness of range of machineries and accessories,” added Ghitturi. “Besides the new family of robotic arms, we manufacture inspection machines, buffing machines, extruders, building machines, autoclaves, presses, moulds, buffing blades, carbide wheels, etc. for tyres from motorcycle up to 63“, including solid tyres and aircraft tyres with the best technologies. Our autoclaves are supplied also to aeronautics and space industries, satisfying the most demanding process specifications.”
Meanwhile, Leonardo Cappuccini has been appointed as General Manager of Go Energy. New to the Italmatic Group, he joins Paride Frattone (ex Marigo) and Stefano Coazzoli (ex Staico), who are already well integrated as part of the company’s staff.
