Pelotonia’s traditional bike ride has been cancelled this year due to the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 crisis.
TECH Continues Support for Charity Bike Ride
However, Team TECH is not letting that stop them from continuing their tradition of supporting this cause. As a result, Team TECH is hosting its own Pelotonia event where the team will have the option to ride or walk to support the cause.
The event takes place on August 22, 2020 and will kick off at the beautiful TECH Lake in Johnstown, OH. There will be a 5k walk around the lake, a 25-mile, casual bike ride on the T Evans Bike Path and a 50 mile bike ride on the road for experienced riders.
Pelotonia is a grass-roots bike ride with one goal: END CANCER. Over the past 11 years, the Pelotonia community has raised over $200 million for cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Team TECH’s rider and volunteer participation since 2017 has resulted in over $50,000 raised for this great cause.
TECH’s VP of Global Operations Mike Murray commented; “Our goals for this year’s event are to get more TECH people involved (including family and friends), raise money for cancer research, and keep everyone safe (on the road and through social distancing. Team TECH and all those who participate embody and exemplify our values. Our involvement with Pelotonia allows us to honour those who battle cancer, support the innovative research to find a cure, and to demonstrate our dedication and commitment to the community.”
