Digitalisation has become an integral part of public and private life. KRAIBURG Austria has also been addressing the topic of digitalisation for some time and recently began implementing a comprehensive digitalisation strategy.
Focus on Quality Assurance and Improved Customer Service
This initiative is based on a two-year planning and concept phase. The Austrian retreading specialist focuses on further optimising customer benefits and increasing the efficiency of its service offering. “The digitalisation measures will help to ensure the quality of our range of services in the long term,” emphasises Stefan Mayrhofer, Managing Director of KRAIBURG Austria. This will enable us to focus even better on the needs of our customers, the retreaders, in the future.”
The basis for developing the digitalisation strategy was a model that makes it possible to determine whether the software modules used to date are suitable for the respective business area. This status quo was determined by a series of internal workshops to derive strategic and optimised measures from the findings. True to the motto “roll up your sleeves”, the KRAIBURG team is currently in the middle of the implementation phase. This includes, for example, ensuring higher quality in the document filing system to make it easier and quicker for everyone involved to find the data relevant to them. “This will not only increase efficiency,” explains Johannes Lackner, Head of Innovation and IT and responsible for the digitalisation strategy at KRAIBURG Austria. “We are also creating a preliminary stage that will enable us to use AI to filter planned projects and data in a targeted manner in the future.”
Automation and Business Intelligence Optimise Processes
Another digital tool used to optimise processes is the automation of workflows. In particular, recurring routine administrative tasks will be digitally controlled and secured centrally in the future. However, the measures adopted are not limited to administrative workflows and processes: “Business intelligence solutions are also very helpful for keeping an eye on production processes and product quality daily,” says Johannes Lackner. This refers to automatically generated dashboards that record all important operating data daily, from order data to any disruptions in the production process. The continuous view of this aggregated data enables even more timely corrective action than before. It thus represents an additional building block for ensuring the consistently high conformity and quality of the retreading materials produced in Geretsberg.
Customer focus and Striving for Improvement Top Priority
Gradual digitalisation naturally also involves the integration of artificial intelligence. AI is currently on everyone’s lips, and developments are happening at breakneck speed. KRAIBURG is currently running a series of pilot projects in which colleagues from various specialist departments analyse the potential and possibilities of AI applications and test their suitability for practical use. In addition to simplifying and optimising internal processes, AI primarily supports the rapid and ideal implementation of customer requests. “All of these examples represent our comprehensive strategy, which we are using to digitalise further and transform our company step by step,” adds Stefan Mayrhofer. “After all, customer focus, flexibility and continuous improvement have been our top priorities for 60 years. In line with this philosophy, meaningful process and quality optimisation are just as important to us as our comprehensive environmental management, the dynamics of which we will also be communicating an update on shortly.”
