Gradeall Showcases Baler Solution for Retreaders

Northern Irish baler manufacturer Gradeall made its presence felt at TyreXpo Asia 2025, introducing a space-saving, one-man-operated tyre baling machine designed specifically for retreading companies. Despite the event being dominated by Chinese tyre manufacturers, Alan Shaw, Head of UK & International Sales, highlighted the strong interest Gradeall received from tyre distributors and manufacturers facing tyre return and logistics challenges.

Addressing Tyre Returns and Logistics Issues

A key issue discussed at the event was the growing problem of tyre returns. With varying quality standards in the market, many distributors and manufacturers are forced to handle large volumes of returned tyres. Shaw explained how Gradeall’s baling solution provides a cost-effective and space-saving method for managing these returns, enabling businesses to transport more tyres in a single load and reduce overall logistics costs.

Additionally, the ability to bale tyres into a compact form transforms them into a tradeable commodity, attracting interest from companies looking at the economic potential of tyre recycling.

A Practical Solution for Retreaders

For retreaders, Gradeall’s specialised baling machine offers a unique advantage. Shaw noted that around 15% of tyres collected can be retreaded, and Gradeall’s solution allows operators to separate these valuable casings from tyres destined for recycling.

The machine’s one-person operation significantly reduces labour costs while improving efficiency. Additionally, its design maximises space usage by allowing compressed tyres to be baled while leaving room for uncompressed casings on top. This ensures that retreadable tyres remain intact and are transported alongside scrap tyres in a single, optimised load, cutting down on logistics expenses and improving overall operations. The simplicity of this system, combined with its ease of global shipping, makes it an ideal solution for retreaders worldwide.

Expanding Global Reach

Gradeall’s participation at TyreXpo Asia 2025 underscores its commitment to providing practical and economical solutions for tyre management. With many businesses recognising the importance of cost-efficient, space-saving, and sustainable tyre handling, the company sees strong potential for expanding its footprint across Southeast Asia and beyond.
