Futurmotive Expo & Talks, the Autopromotec spin-off event designed to focus on the themes of energy and ecological transition as well as innovations in the automotive sector, took place from 16 to 18 November at the Bologna Exhibition Centre in Italy, welcoming manufacturers, distributors and buyers from across the automotive sector.

Retreading Industry Well Represented

The event, which took place alongside a sister event, E-CHARGE, dedicated to the electric vehicle recharging chain, took place in Halls 14 and 19, attracting a total of 302 participating companies and 8,505 visitors across the two events.

As far as the tyre industry is concerned, the event was relatively small, but it did attract a small but interesting core of companies from across the sector in including tyre manufacturers, scrap tyre management schemes and technology companies, all of which we keen to display and demonstrate their contribution to the Circular Economy.

In particular, the organisers gave considerable support to the retreading industry, with the event hosting the annual meeting of AIRP, the Italian Retreaders’ Association, the BIPAVER General Assembly, the Future of Retreading and Recycling Conference, organised by Retreading Business, and the Awards Ceremony for the 2023 Recircle Awards.

For the retreading sector, of particular interest was the presence of Italian start-up Rover Research, who were presenting an alternative and more sustainable retreading process based on the use of water jet technology.

“This was a first edition that leaves us fully satisfied from all points of view, commented Renzo Servadei, CEO of Autopromotec. “The response from companies in the sector – and beyond – was more than positive, and the same goes for the operators who visited the exhibition. As always, we have to thank the Institutions, MAECI – Ministry of Cooperation and International Affairs, ICE – Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalisation of Italian companies, and the Emilia-Romagna Region, for having supported us in this new experience from the very beginning. Special thanks on our part go to ANFIA, which as a partner in the initiative has contributed in terms of content and more: an important partnership, which once again demonstrates how our sector must proceed united in going through this moment of revolution.”

Having concluded the event at Futurmotive – Expo & Talks, the organisers are already looking forward to the next edition of Autopromotec, which will celebrate its 30th edition from 21 to 24 May 2025.
