Camac Compounding Launches

Camac Tyres has announced the launch of Camac Compounding, a new division dedicated to providing sustainable, high-performance rubber compounds for the tyre retreading and conveyor belt industries across Europe. The initiative is backed by parent company SPC Europe Ltd (SPC), a custom rubber compound manufacturing leader, and is set to commence operations in 2025.

Retreading Entrant

Camac Compounding aims to enhance the durability, safety, and lifespan of retreaded tyres and conveyor belts while prioritising sustainability. The company seeks to reduce waste and production costs by incorporating recycled and regenerated rubber materials, offering a cost-efficient and environmentally responsible alternative to conventional rubber compounds.

SPC’s €20 million investment in Camac Tyres’ manufacturing and R&D facilities, including developing a world-class laboratory, supports the new venture. This investment underscores SPC’s commitment to advancing rubber-compounding technologies and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.

Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

Paul Hallas, Managing Director of SPC Europe Ltd, highlighted the strategic vision behind Camac Compounding: “Camac Compounding was created to lead the industry in custom rubber mixing solutions that enhance performance and sustainability in the tyre retreading and conveyor belt sectors. By leveraging SPC’s expertise in high-volume custom compounding, we can meet the rigorous specifications of our clients while significantly reducing environmental impact through innovative recycling and manufacturing techniques.”

Camac Compounding will provide tailored rubber solutions for a range of industries, including construction and general industrial applications. In addition to its core focus on tyre retreading and conveyor belts, Camac Compounding will develop each compound using advanced mixing techniques and stringent testing standards to ensure optimal performance.

Harnessing Cutting-Edge Technology in Rubber Compounding

SPC Europe Ltd has established a robust reputation for driving innovation in rubber compounding, and Camac Compounding will honour this legacy by incorporating the latest advancements in material science. The company will also collaborate with Nova Form, SPC’s research division, which specialises in elastomer recycling and performance enhancement. This partnership will ensure that Camac Compounding remains at the cutting edge of technological developments in sustainable rubber solutions.

With operations set to begin in 2025, Camac Compounding is poised to play a key role in the European rubber industry. It offers high-quality, sustainable alternatives that support economic and environmental objectives.
