Michelin North America Inc. has introduced the X Works D retread, a new precure drive-position retread designed for on- and off-road applications.
Complementary Retread Product
The X Works D retread represents the next generation in retreading technology, optimised for superior wear performance, toughness, and traction in mixed and aggressive environments. According to Michelin, the retread offers exceptional traction in new and worn conditions and features stone ejectors and unique siping to minimise stone retention. It provides improved wear mileage with a directional tread pattern.
Pierluigi Cumo, Vice President of B2B Marketing for Michelin North America, highlighted the retread’s specific design for construction, energy, concrete, and logging industries. “These vehicles operate in aggressive and mixed-use environments, driving off the pavement at least 10% of the time daily and subjecting tyres to harsh conditions,” Cumo explained.
Michelin asserts that the X Works D retread delivers a balanced combination of stability and traction, with a tread pattern engineered to maintain control on various surfaces as the tyre ages. “The innovative Michelin X Works D pre-mould retread delivers outstanding traction, durability, and wear resistance for on- and off-road fleets, reflecting our dedication to sustainability now and into the future,” Cumo added.
He further emphasised Michelin’s commitment to balancing social, economic, and environmental concerns to ensure the planet’s future.
The new X Works D retread is available in the United States and Canada. It is offered in six tread widths: 210 mm, 220 mm, 230 mm, 240 mm, 250 mm, and 270 mm, all with a tread depth of 30/32nds-inch.
