Midas’s Cochin based customer TCR Retreading has acquired land to establish a Truck Tyre Care Centre, the objective being to offer all tyre related care under one roof.
TCR Retreading to Expand Service Offering
“Our customers are demanding services like wheel alignment and wheel balancing at our retreading plant. We are keen on expanding our tyre care services beyond retreading and selling new tyres,” said Babu T R, Managing Director, TCR Retreading Co. “We plan to launch the truck care centre by the middle of 2023, which will likely to coincide with the normalisation of market conditions,” he added.
Besides retreading, TCR forayed into the new car tyre business three years ago as part of a plan to expand its tyre related business activities. The tyre shop offers a range of car tyre brand including Apollo, JK and Ceat.
TCR started its retread plant in 1995 and currently offers both precure and conventional hot retreading. Installed with 5 tyre autoclave, 4 electric and two steam bonders, the company currently retreads around 5,000 tyres per annum. Currently the plant consumes about 50 tons of Midas tread annually, with the majority of business coming from retreading the 1000/20 size tyre.
“Our focus is on quality, which why we only offer tyre retreading using Midas treads,” said Babu. “We have zero complaints from the market as our focus is on workmanship and good quality products.”
