The Turkish retreading materials manufacturer ZQ Tyres, which operates under the Wolf brand, has announced a number of new projects that will be put into action during 2023.
New Projects in the Pipeline
Firstly, the company recently announced the opening of its own ZQ Tyres retreading facility at the end of 2022 and started supplying retreaded tyres to the local market. The facility, which has a capacity of 4,000 retreads per month, has initially started by using pre-cured cold retreading products of ZQ Tyres’ own production. The centre mainly aims to provide the Turkish domestic market with van, light truck and TBR retreads.
ZQ Tyres has also announced that it plans on starting to retread tyres using the hot retreading system as well and has purchased moulds for both winter and all-season tyres. According to the company’s predictions, this hot retreading facility is planned to have TBR, off-road, and OTR tyres with a total capacity of 11,000 tyres per month.
The company says it is also planning to branch out into the manufacture of new agricultural tyres as well. The trials for these products have already started, and ZQ Tyres plan to launch its agricultural tyre facility by June 2023, manufacturing tyres under the brand ZQ Montana. Production will include front and back tractor tyres as well as implement tyres.
Also scheduled is a plan to produce industrial tyres. The production of solid tyres will be under the ZQ Warrior brand name, whilst pneumatic tyres will be under the ZQ Montana brand. The company has purchased a 36,500 sq m factory in Sakarya and is in the process of getting everything ready for the above projects, most of which are scheduled for implementation in 2023.
ZQ Tyres is a relatively new player in the retreading market. However, in a short space of time it has become one of the major actors in the Turkish retreading market, supplying all products needed for both hot retreading and cold retreading. The company was founded in 2017 as the result of a joint venture between Ziylan Taban A.Ş. and Qualchem Inc. The company began by producing rubber compounds under the company name ZQ Polymer and entered the retreading market in 2020.
